The PhD program in Political Science was launched in 2010, completing the academic training path offered by the Department of Political Science.
Under the coordination of Prof. Gabriel Bădescu and Prof. Cosmin Marian, and benefiting from the support and involvement of all department members, the PhD program allows for the exploration of a wide range of in-depth research topics. It complements the academic programs offered at the bachelor’s and master’s levels within the department.
Doctoral students in the department conduct research in fields such as comparative politics, interethnic relations, Europeanization, EU policies, religion, democratization, migration, human rights, or political elites.
The first year of the PhD program is dedicated to doctoral school training, during which students can attend courses in international relations, research methodology, comparative politics, political economy, political philosophy, or social psychology, taught by members of the Department of Political Science or faculty from other UBB departments.
Doctoral students benefit from research opportunities and infrastructure provided by the department and its research centers, as well as from a national and international network of contacts.
